A cryptocurrency investor recently made an astonishing profit of over $9.5 million from a mere $1,331 investment in the Moo Deng (MOODENG) token, which has a hippo theme. On September 10, on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain reported that the trader, using the Solana blockchain, spent 9.8 SOL (about $1,331) to acquire 38.7 million MOODENG tokens.
By September 27, just 16 days later, the investor sold 104,000 MOODENG tokens for roughly 112 SOL, equivalent to $17.9K. The investor still holds 38.64 million tokens, which are valued at over $9.5 million.
This remarkable profit has sparked significant discussions in the crypto community, with many questioning whether the gain was purely luck or possibly due to insider trading. These concerns have been heightened by the liquidity pool for MOODENG, which was reportedly only $1.8 million. Due to this limited liquidity, the investor would likely struggle to fully cash out without causing a significant drop in the token’s price, raising suspicions of potential manipulation or privileged access to information.
