Binance Airdrops $1.5 million in BNB to European Flood Victims.
Binance Charity is committing up to $1.5 million in Binance Coin (BNB) to assist users impacted by the severe flooding caused by Storm Boris in Central Europe. The hardest-hit areas include Poland, Romania, and Czechia, where the floods have led to widespread devastation, including the destruction of homes and personal property, and even loss of life.
According to the announcement, Binance will distribute BNB directly to users in these affected regions who complete the Proof of Address (POA) process by September 18, 2024, confirming their residency in the disaster zones. Each eligible user will receive $50 in BNB deposited into their Binance accounts, with the first batch of funds being disbursed on October 1, 2024.
For those completing POA between September 18 and October 11, 2024, Binance will provide an additional $25 in BNB to extend further support.
Kyrylo Khomyakov, Binance’s General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, expressed hope that these donations would be beneficial to users, whether for personal recovery or aiding local communities.
This initiative by Binance Charity aims to alleviate the financial difficulties caused by the flooding, offering direct financial aid to help users rebuild and support their communities.
We at Localbitcoins.ng hope such initiative will be extended to Nigerians in need; like the victims of the recent Borno flooding.
